1459369 Laminated trim member STANDARD PRODUCTS CO 4 Feb 1975 [19 April 1974] 4727/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division B6] A trim member, e.g. for attachment to vehicle bumpers, comprises a base having thereon a decorative top layer which is protected by a transparent pvc layer 20 and a transparent acrylic or polyvinyl fluoride layer 26 containing an ultraviolet absorber. As shown, the base comprises an extruded vinyl member 10 and a vinyl sub-base 12 to which is secured, by adhesive 16, a 0À0005 inch polyethylene terephthalate film 14 having an aluminium coating 15. Layers 12, 14, 15 and 16 may be supplied as a pre-laminate. The layer 20 may be an impact-resistant material of thickness 0À030 inch and durometer hardness 80 and may be adhesively bonded to the film 14. Specification 901,397 discloses a suitable cross-linked acrylate material for the layer 26. The bottom surface of the member 10 may have adhesively bonded thereto a reinforcing aluminium strip. |
