An electronic revolution or turns counter instrument is used to determine the angular speed of rotation of a spark ignition internal combustion engine. The instrument has a galvanometer (19) to display the speed of rotation. The ignition contact breaker (v) of the engine provides a signal proportional to the speed of rotation. It has a circuit with a resistor (10) and a Zener diode (11). There are also two parallel lines (16, 17) which form part of the circuit. One line (16) had a diode (18) which allows current to charge a capacitor (13). The other line (17) has a diode (20) and a galvanometer (19) which allows the discharge of the capacitor (13). The galvanometer (19) can detect pulses corresponding to the opening and closing of the breaker (v) and the charge and discharge of the capacitor (13).
|
