<p>The pump for fire fighting equipment has two stages with the outlet of the first connected to the input of the second, each with its own set of discharge parts, driven by a common shaft, the first stage being a low pressure stage and the second being a high pressure stage. The low pressure stage is a single cell centrifugal pump and the high pressure stage is a multiple all centrifugal pump. The high pressure stage is operated by a belt and pulley drive to the drive shaft, using a toothed belt. The high pressure stage can be disconnected from the drive shaft by operating a clutch. Its speed can also be varied by a variable speed device on its drive shaft.</p> |
