1453010 Forging hammers S BRIGNOLI 29 Oct 1974 46829/74 Heading B3H A forging machine has at least two pairs of hammers 8 driven by eccentric shafts 7 synchronized by gearing 7<SP>1</SP>, each hammer being provided with a die holder 9 resiliently connected to the hammer and separated to provide additional stroke length. The separation may be provided by a wedge 16 displaced between the die holder 9 and the hammer by a pistoncylinder unit 17, 18 or by a mechanical or electrical device. The wedges 16 of each opposed pair of hammers are moved together by a cross-member 14. A scale collecting vessel 5 is provided in an oil sump 4 and fans 27 draw air to cool electric motors 6 driving the eccentric shafts 7. |
