Each end of the brush shaft (1) has an axial hole containing a spring (3), as well as a lenthwise slit (4) in which moves a cylindrical wedge. The wedge (5) protrudes beyond the shaft on both sides. The inside of each drive wheel (6) has two diametrically opposite threads with side stop walls. If the drive wheel (6) of the land wheel (9) is rotated in one direction, the brush shaft (1) is inserted in the threads by the wedge (5) resting against the wall. If the land wheel (9) rotates in the opposite direction the drive wheel rotates in the opposite direction also. The threads then press the wedge back so that it no longer drives the brush shaft.
