As shown the fluid, which may be of pressure and temperature differing from that for the hydrostatic load supporting elements 11, is supplied to the gaps via ducts 18, 24 and the grooves 22, 23 in the running surfaces which may be in the form of a parallelogram. Adjacent hydrostatic distributor elements 17 are connected by pins 26 to prevent relative rotation. The shell 1 rotates in bearings 4 in articulated supports 5, 6 and the fluid is supplied to the hydrostatic load supporting elements 11 via ducts 14, 13 and 12.
