<p>1489204 Moulding shoes T FUKUOKA 15 Oct 1974 2 Nov 1973 18 Jan 1974 4 May 1974] 13849/77 Divided out of 1489202 Heading B5A [Also in Division A3] A method of making a shoe comprises mounting an upper vamp part, e.g. an upper vamp 106, Fig. 1, in a mould 109 having a cavity 113 for its reception and then moulding an integral connection between the upper vamp part and a section containing at least a side vamp part. The section including the side vamp part may be formed during the moulding, or may be preformed. In one form, the mould 109, Figs. 2, 3, has grooves 112 into which plastics &c, material forming the shoe flows to form beads 107 or strips connecting a vamp 106 and side parts 105 of an upper. The moulded material forms strips 107, Figs. 4, 5, which unite with the edges of the side parts 105 &c., or forms slotted or stepped edges, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown), which connect to the side &c. parts. The plastics may be vinyl chloride, polyurethane, synthetic rubber &c. The upper vamp &c. may be of leather, fibre &c. The joins between parts may be reinforced by sewing.</p> |
