<p>The pulsating water jet propulsion system is for watercraft, pref. with the jet orifice in the stern, uses oscillating water columns driven from, but not flowing through, a chamber in which steam is generated. This chamber (1) is very restricted in one dimension. There should pref. be tubes (3) for more than one column, and they should be of unequal length to avoid excessive amounts of water being drawn into the chamber. Streamlined entry sections (2) for the tubes improve performance, as does a non-perpendicular intersection between tube axis and chamber plane. Tubes can be connected to either side of the chamber or to both sides.</p> |
