<p>Household articles are mfd. by injection moulding, using high pressure polyethylene, high pressure polypropylene, polyamides or elastomers or thermoplastics. The appropriate plastics material for the coat-hangers is so selected that it can be rendered thoroughly liquid for the injection moulding process and then solidifies and hardens to a flexible object possessing appreciable tensile strength after moulding. Preferred appts. allows the central portion of the coat hanger to be moulded as a continuous strip. End portions are broadened out, and each formed with a pair of apertures for the suspension thread and also with a groove interconnecting the apertures so that the thread lies flush with the face of the coat-hanger. One face is roughened. Method is also applicable to closure strips for small pockets or bags, to enable extra protection against wear to be provided to the ends.</p> |
