The strainer, esp. tea strainer is provided with a holder (2, 3) and support stand which is provided with at least one pouring spout (7) the centre line of which lies approx. at right angles to the swivel axis of the handle (6) of the strainer. In this way any liq. passing into the surrounding stand can be easily poured away without soiling the surrounding table cloth or the like. The stand is pref. a hemispherical container with support feet (15). There are pref. two opposite spouts. The holder (2) is resiliently attached by means of an enclosed spring (18) allowing lateral movement in both directions (19).
