Flexible sealing element for rotary heat exchanger - with U:shaped or V:shaped spring strip of predetermined dimensions

In a seal system a U- or V-shaped spring strip element carries a sealing element which bears against a rotating face. The distance between the stationary and rotating faces is 1/2 pref. 0.4, the width of the seal element. An overhang at the extremity of the spring is 0.1 times the seal width. Used in rotary gas-to-gas heat exchangers associated with a gas turbine. Simple construction giving efficient sealing and long seal life is provided.
