Locating system for surveillance or rescue - uses miniature transmitter carried on person incorporated in clothes or equipment and actuated in response to shock

The person locating system is used for surveillance of children, for rescue of skiers caught in an avalanche, or for police surveillance purposes. It employs a miniature transmitter, with an automatic release system for the transmitter responsive to a shock or to removal of the transmitter. The transmitter may be incorporated in a garment, it may be attached to a belt or it may be incorporated in a pair of skis. It is pref. flat and round with a thickness of 2 centimetres or less and its total volume is pref. no more than 50 cubic centimetres.
