Leather ironing machine - with manual brake roller ahead of transport belt deflection pulley for retardation of hide middle

A leather ironing machine for processing whole hides has an endless transport belt which is deflected upwards and horizontally by a pulley at the loading end. The pulley is preceded by a roller which is not contacted by the belt but can be used as a brake for the central part of an entering hide. By applying his hands to the hide on the brake roller, the operator can retard and stretch the middle part of a hide and prevent the formation of folds during ironing.
