The containers are indexed to inspection stations on plate 60 from conveyer 58 using star wheel 56. Drive motor 16 produces a continuous output and this is passed to indexing gear-box 20, via belts and pulleys, which produces an intermittent drive for wheel 56. Shaft encoder 48 on secondary gear box 34 produces 1000 pulses for every cycle of indexing gear box 20 and these pulses pass to circuitry Figs. 2-4 (not shown) which times the on and off points of each inspection station independently. |
