The radiant cooler is used for an object at approximately the temp. of human body. The coller has infrared radiation condenser arrangement of enlarged geometrical dimensions for optical coupling with the object. A radiation sink of smaller geometrical dimensions for better icing control is optically coupled with the infrared radiation condenser. A window used for isolating the sink from atmos. has an infrared radiation source. A heat exchanger removes the heat from the radiation sink. The intensified infrared cooling can be used for a limited area on the object. The heat exchanger which has thermoelectric parts is energised externally. The radiation condenser is a reflector and the energy source has electrical transformer arrangements. The infrared radiation is emitted within the wavelength range between 4 and 40.
