摘要 <p>In applying a molten metal coating to a metal tube or other workpiece, the metal flows over the workpiece from a reservoir and a splash plate, pref. in the form of a tube, is provided to direct the flow around the workpiece. The splash tube is connectd to a reservoir to receive the molten galvanising material from slots or apertures in the reservoir. Molten metal is pumped from a heated kettle into the reservoir and molten metal flows from the bottom of the reservoir over the workpiece as it moves in a straight line beneath the reservoir. To make sure the coating has the required thickness the tube coated with molted metal is fed through a sizing die then exposed to an air knife. Used for galvanising steel tubes, partic. of small dia. Because of the relatively small space between the splash plate and the workpiece longitudinal flow is induced in the molten metal, and controlled in direction by shaping of the splash plate or by inclining the splash plate.</p>
