Tank linings of coated aromatic polyamide fabric - coated with fluorocarbon or polyimide

Tank lining material comprises a liquid-tight textile fabric consisting of an aramide carrier formed from a polyamide formed from aromatic ring cpds., coated on >=1 side with a layer of a fluorinated hydrocarbon polymer. A pref. carrier is of poly-para-phenylenediamine-terephthalamide, which has excellent mechanical strength and resistance to temps. of -200 to +250 degrees C. The coated fabrics have excellent chemical resistance, thermal properties and flexibility. They can be installed and replaced easily as linings for tanks, and are usable over a wide range of temps. (e.g., -50 to +200 degrees C) in contact with a wide variety of materials over the whole pH range.
