<p>Matching system for induction heated furnaces where the load, i.e. the material to be heated, may very its impedance characteristics as it moves through its Curie point. The control arrangement maintains a constant power output to the load by including in the coil circuit an additional series coil with a saturable core. Both coils are connected across the normal capacitor bank, the additional series coil having its inductance varied by altering the saturation state of its three branch air - gapped core by manual or clock timed alteration of d.c. within a control winding. The furnace may be one used to treat magnetic materials such as iron and nickel.</p> |
