An inertia block shock detector permits detection of shock waves from violent impacts by momentarily breaking a circuit. Protection is provided against damp and it is also protected when it is removed from its fixing surface. An inertia block on a supporting blade has its lower part forming a contact connection. The external connection is made at one extremity. Another blade enables a circuit to be opened by the head contact. This blade is supported by a support close to the head contact. An adjusting screw enables the head supporting blade contact to be adjusted via a curved spring blade.
