The gap valve is used as an adjustable ventilation opening in a window frame. A base piece (3) and a cover (4) form a guide for a strip-shaped closing means (2) which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction in order to close or to release the valve gap (1). The closing means (2) can be displaced continuously from the fully closed position to the fully open position of the valve. In the fully open position, the closing means (2) produced from an elastic material is rolled together in the form of a spiral in an annular coil guide at the lower end of the base piece (3). In the open position, the valve has an uninterrupted opening over virtually the whole length of the valve. The base piece (3) is designed for incorporation into a window frame (not shown). The essential point to the invention is that the strip-shaped closing means can be displaced in the guide with minimum play, with the result that a good sealing and control capability are ensured. <IMAGE> |
