<p>The appts. consists of a frame with a rotary cutting head. This pref. has an inner annular disk enclosed by an outer ring which can be turned relatively to it. Supports can pivot on axes arranged parallel to the central axis of the head and are attached to one ring and work with cams on the other. There are counterweights on the supports alongside the pivots or the cams and at the ends of the supports towards the centre of the head there are cutters. When the cutting head rotates, the centrifugal forece acting on the counterweights moves the cutters towards the centre; the pivot shafts of the supports and the corresp. cams being placed on opposite sides of the part of the support forming the counterweight. The radii from the centre point of the cutter head through the pivot point of the supports and through the corresponding cam subtend an angle of from 10-90 degrees. The cam works with the support through a shackle hinged at one end to the support and at the other to the cam. The counterweight of the support can be increased or reduced by detachable components.</p> |
