1509360 Heat-curable silicone composition containing epoxy siloxane additives TORAY SILICONE CO Ltd 8 Dec 1966 [15 Dec 1975] 51178/76 Heading C3T A heat-curable organopolysiloxane composition comprises (1) 100 p.b.w. of a siloxane of average unit formula RaSiO4-9, wherein R is #2 OH, a C1-4 alkoxy radical, or a C1-8 optionally substituted hydrocarbyl radical, at least 25 mol% of the groups R being unsubstituted hydrocarbyl radicals, and a is 1-3; (2) 0À01-10 p.b.w. of an organic peroxide catalyst; (3) 0À01-20 p.b.w. of a compound containing at least one group A(R<1>O)2Si- and at least one C1-4 alkyl or alkenyl radical or H atom bound to Si, A being a monovalent epoxyhydrocarbyl group; and optionally (4) up to 400 p.b.w. of a filler. In the examples 100 p.b.w. of a polydimethylsiloxane, unmodified (Ex. 1), or containing 0À1 mol% MeViSiO units (Ex. 2), or 3 mol% of MePhSiO units (Ex. 3), or a 70 : 30 mixture of a copolymer of PhMeSiO (62 mol%), PhViSiO (29À6 mol%) and PhMeViSiO0À5 (8À4 mol%) units with Me2ViSiO (Ph2SiO) SiMe2Vi (Ex. 4) is mixed with 1-2 p.b.w. of the siloxanes or a copolymer of the units glycidoxypropyl dimethoxysiloxane (6%), MeSiO1À5 (50%), Me2SiO (40%) and ViSiO1À5 (4%), and optionally 30 50 p.b.w. of treated fumed silica or acetylene black, and cured with 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl peroxide, benzoyl peroxide, cumyl peroxide, or t-butyl peroxide. The cured rubbers adhere to ceramic, steel, aluminium, nickel, copper, zincplated iron, polyethylene terephthalate, polyamide and polyimide surfaces. |
