1. A method of inactivating virus present during production of a polypeptide of interest, comprising:
(a) binding the polypeptide to a chromatography matrix, and (b) performing a virus inactivation step by washing the polypeptide-bound chromatography matrix with a wash solution at a pH of lower than about 4.0, wherein the wash solution comprises a concentration of a salt sufficient to substantially reduce elution of the polypeptide during the virus inactivation step. |
