1450686 Collagen fibre dispersions COLLAGEN PRODUCTS PTY Ltd 3 Sept 1973 [18 Sept 1972] 41325/73 Heading B5B [Also in Division C3] A dispersion of collagen fibres is formed by treating a collagenous material with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide of concn. 0.25M to 2M at a temperature between freezing point of the solution up to 30‹C until the material has softened and then mechanically dispersing the collagenous material to separate the fibres from one another to form the required dispersion. The collagenous material may first be pretreated with an aqueous solution of an alkaline earth hydroxide and the material severed into discrete particles prior to the mechanical dispersion. Neutralisation and drying treatments may be effected finally. |
