<p>The bracket structure is for the prepn. and manufacture of sets of false teeth. It has top and bottom brackets, each with a bite plate fitting on the jaw, and with hinge pins and sockets working together. The sockets are filled with an initially malleable material, either self-hardening or which can be conveniently hardened. When the brackets and bite plates are fitted into the mouth of the patient the pins and socket lie on the jaw hinge axis, so that jaw movement shapes the material into recesses. After hardening, movement of the jaws is simulated by moving the brackets in relation to each other with the pins in contact with the bases of the recesses.</p> |
