The ceramic or porcelain materials are mixed with metal-or similar- bodies resembling short fibres but with an unrestricted geometric form. The bodies increase the mechanical strength and thermal conductivity of the objects. The bodies pref. consist of ferromagnetic (FEM)- and/or nonferromagnetic (NFM)- materials used alone or mixed in all or part of the object. The FEM materials are pref. aligned and conc. by magnetic fields. The bodies may also be oriented by shaping the unbaked mixt. or via sedimentation of the bodies heavier than the ceramic materials. The metal bodiees may be present in an uncombined state in the objects, or may be combined due to the influence of the ceramic materials and gases present in the latter. Used e.g. in the mfg. of cooking utensils with increased strength and thermal conductivity.
|
