摘要 1325833 Dual fuel engines; regulating SULZER BROS Ltd 10 March 1972 [10 March 1971] 11335/72 Heading F1B The power plant comprises a diesel engine (not shown) operating on liquid fuel and/or gas obtained by vapourization from a liquid gas tank, a compressor 130, liquid and gaseous fuel metering devices 111, 114 inter-connected by a differential device 107 so that when one delivery rate increases the other decreases, a servomotor 117 adjusting one device, the plant being arranged so that a gas pressure controller 138 maintains the compressor delivery pressure constant and a pressure detecting means 140 between the tank 127 and the compressor controls the servomotor in dependence on the pressure detected. The pressure in the compressor delivery pipe 132, leading by pipe 135 to the engine, is determined by a pressure controller 162 which actuates the servomotor 138<SP>1</SP> of valve 138, the controller 162 receiving its set value from comparator which is subject to air pressure in lines 175, 176. The pressure in line 175 is set by a pressure reducer 164 controlled by a cam 108 in dependence on the position of a set value output lever 103 from an engine-driven speed controller 101. The pressure in control line 176 is set by a pressure reducer 126 in dependence on the measured value of an engine delivery torque measuring element 122. The torque delivered by the engine during gaseous fuel operation always corresponds to the torque during liquid fuel operation for the same setting of output lever 103. If the gaseous fuel is of a constant calorific value the pressure reducers 126, 164 and comparator are omitted. Gas leaving the compressor 130 passes through a temperature controlled heater 133 and a smoothing tank 134 to the engine line 135. The top and bottom gas pressure limits in line 129 from the tank 127 are controlled by pneumatic pressure transducers 139, 140. Transducer 139 actuates valve 136 to open when a maximum pressure is exceeded. Transducer 140 is connected to a pressure reducer 143. The latter can also be actuated by an arm 145 from servomotor 138<SP>1</SP>. Lever 107 controls a pulse generating pump 114 which controls the engine gas inlet valves (not shown) and a fuel injection pump 111.
