A lamp (19) for a television or cinema studio is suspended from a trolley (20) which runs on a rail (13) supported by frame (11). The electric supply cable for the lamp is supported on hinged arms (16) which extend between the frame and ceiling. The frame is supported at each end by two parallel cables (28). The lower ends of these cables are wound on drums inside the frame. These drums carry pulleys which are driven by belts from an electric motor inside the frame so that the height of the lamp can be varied as required.
