PURPOSE:To obtain the titled high quality compound, a starting material for treatments and additives, in high yield through simplified operations by the ester exchanged of an alcohol ester of (meth)acrylic acid with an alcohol, using a specific catalyst of organotin compound which can be reused. CONSTITUTION:A lower alcohol ester of (meth)acrylic acid is subjected to the ester exchange with a higher (polyhydric) alcohold using a compound of formulaI[R=1-8C alkyl etc., X=OR', OCOR' (R'=1-18C alkyl), etc.](e.g. tributyltin methoxide), a compound of formula II (e.g. dimethyltin dimethoxide), a compound of formula III (A=COCH=ChCO, CO(H2SCH2CO, etc.) (e.g. dibutyltin maleate), a compound of formula IV, or a compound of formula V (B=0, OCOCH= CHCOO; Y=OCOR', etc.) 9e.g. bis(tributyltin) oxide) to afford a higher (polyhydeic) alcohol ester of (meth)acrylic acid. |
