PURPOSE:Crude stevioside is separated by the adsorption on an adsorbent of synthetic resin and further contacted with a specific ion-exchange resin, thereby producing high-purity and colorless stevioside. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing stevioside, such as extracts from leaves of Stevia rebaudiana, is contacted with an adsorbent of synthetic resin with macronetwork structure and stevioside is selectively adsorbed on the resin. The stevioside adsorbed is contacted with a strong base anionin exchange resin such as the highly porous quarternary ammonium type strong base anion exchange resin made by Mitsubishi Kasei Kogyo K K to separate color substances, thus producing purified stevioside. |
