1510239 Cutting webs into predetermined lengths SIEMENS AG 19 Nov 1976 [5 Dec 1975] 48458/76 Heading B4B Apparatus for cross-cutting paper or the like comprises feed rollers 3 for feeding a strip 1 of paper, a rotatable cutting drum 4 having a blade for repeatedly cutting the strip into predetermined lengths, first and second drive means 5 and 8 for driving the feed roller and blade drum respectively, an adjustable gear means 9 for transmitting drive from the second drive means to the blade drum in a non-linear manner such that whilst cutting, the blade drum is rotated at a first speed such that the blade moves synchronously with the paper and between cutting operations, the blade drum is rotated at a second speed which is adjustable in dedependence upon the length of paper to be cut and safety circuit means 10 to 21 to prevent overload of the apparatus when the non-linear drive means is set above a predetermined limit. |
