Polyether-based polyurethane foams including an antimony compound and a chlorinated hydrocarbon for fire-retardant purposes exhibit improved flame- retardancy when the polyol used to prepare the foams is a diol- or triol- based polyol wherein at least 50% of the hydroxyl end groups are primary hydroxyl end groups. The foams are then able to tolerate relatively high levels of the antimony compound and the chlorinated hydrocarbon without any significant fall-off in physical properties. Formulations for preparing the foams are also described and claimed. |
