PURPOSE:To provide a highly efficient, low-noise indoor unit for air conditioner, which can be constructed with its depth being reduced remarkably. CONSTITUTION:By the rotation of a centrifugal fan 7 with backward-directed vanes, indoor air is drawn from suction opening 2 and exchanges heat at heat exchanger 4. The air thus heat exchanged is discharged by the fan 7 in circumferential direction of the same and directed in the direction of arrow (a) shown in the drawing, while guided by a first arcuate portion 8 of spiral casing 10. On the other hand, heat-exchanged air, discharged to a second arcuate portion 9 of the spiral casing 10, is guided by guide vane 13 and directed in the direction of arrow (b) through passage 14. Therefore, heat-exchanged air from fan 7 is discharged uniformly from outlet opening 3. |
