A mold 100 comprises a pair of mold sections 102, 104 which form separate communicating chambers 119 and 108 for receiving respectively a component body 20' and a portion 72' of a non-axial lead 74' attached to the body 20'. Molten plastic is introduced into the chambers to surround the lead portion and body. After solidification of the molten plastic, the encapsulated component is removed from the mold and the plastic portion around the lead portion 72' may be removed. The multichamber construction of the mold avoids damage to the lead during encapsulation. <IMAGE> |
