A sanitary towel consists of a rectangular piece of material 2 which is divided by means of folding indications 3 into several areas of some length 4-11 in the material's transverse direction, i.e. in the towel's longitudinal direction, and folded together into a multi- layered towel shape where each layer is formed of one of the areas, whereby the outermost area 10 on one side of the towel 1 has a slot 15 situated in the said area, and whereby the area 8 lying inside the outermost area 10 has first openings 12 formed in the towel's longitudinal direction, and in the towel's folded state has a ridge 14 projecting through a fold formed in the area 8 between the openings and through the slot 15. The ridge-forming area 8 has in its unfolded state, between the first openings 12 and the area's short lateral edges, second openings 13. In the folded state, the area section on both sides of each second opening 13 forms an overlap. <IMAGE> |
