<p>Taking into account the diametrically opposite properties of ballistic protection on the one hand and ammunition having increased combat effectiveness on the other hand, and while completely maintaining the advantages of cast light-alloy armour, it is intended to create weapon protection which is not only of equal effectiveness to the ammunition having increased combat effectiveness, but is even far superior to it. Steel plates (2) are cast in the wall (1) of a gun-turret hatch at a relative inclined position with respect to the external boundary surfaces (1a, 1b). Said plates are arranged like laminates and overlap one another at their respective ends (2a, 2b). The distance (3) between the plate ends (2a, 2b) ensures that, when the wall (1) is cast, the melt can pass through the plate ends (2a, 2b) without any difficulties and can be compressed in this region during cooling without any stress or gaps. The tensile strength of the steel-plate material is between 500 and 750 N/mm<2>, and the composition in % by weight is as follows: C</= 0.1%; Si</= 1%; Mn</= 2%; Cr=17...19%; Ni=9...11.5%; Ti </= 5% of the carbon content: P</= 0.045%; S</= 0.035%; remainder: Fe. <IMAGE></p> |
