PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that can display a boundary of photographic images for each of groups, and output image information as largely as possible or not being hidden by characters.SOLUTION: An image file management device of the present invention creates an index image of a photographic image file, and comprises: image file copying means that, when creating an index image of a photographic image file in a predetermined condition, creates a copy of the photographic image file; index image creation means that converts the original photographic image file from which the copy is created by the image file copying means into an index image; and creation date and time setting means that sets the date and time of the creation of the copy of the photographic image file from which the copy is created by the image file copying means later than the date and time of the creation of the original photographic image file from which the copy is created.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
