An improved stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride polymers and copolymers against heat has the composition (a) a compound having the general formula: <IMAGE> wherein Y is a hydrogen atom or an acyl group, and R is selected from hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 - 18 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group having 1 - 18 carbon atoms or an aralkyl group having 1 - 18 carbon atoms; and (b) an organic phosphite. |
