PURPOSE:To protect electronic equipments effectively from surge voltage by connecting a n-type layer through two bonding wires to two terminals, one of which is connected to the input side and the other to the output side. CONSTITUTION:A p-type layer of a pellet 11 is fixed to a terminal 10. Bonding wires 12 and 13 leading from a n-type layer are connected to terminals 8 and 9 respectively. As a result, a equivalent circuit is formed consisting of the bonding wires 12 and 13 whose resistances and inductances are R3 and L3, and R4 and L4 respectively. Therefore, input voltage of an electronic equipment 6 is always lower than the yield voltage VB of a pellet D2. Thus the input voltage to the equipment 6 is controlled to less than the actual yield voltage of a Zener diode regardless of surge voltage and cycles passing a line 7. |
