<p>The rotary offset printing press has a printing mechanism (14) of modular construction and incorporating rotary plate-(90) and rubber-blanket-(84) cylinders bearing against each other, the latter also in contact with the paper (88), to which it transmits the print pattern. Both cylinders run in bearings between side plates (82). An inking mechanism (12), also of modular construction, is mounted alongside the printing mechanism, its roller (42) bearing against the plate cylinder when in the working position. It includes a series of rollers (40) for applying ink to the roller, which is mounted between side plates (34). A base frame with side columns (28) accommodates both modules, the side plates of both being components separate from it and from each other.</p> |
