PURPOSE:To let converter exhaust gas be discharged and treated without requiring any suction blowers at all by hermetically closing the furnace mouth and skirt during converter operation to increase the pressure in the system with the converter gas and blowing air into the system according to need thereby letting the exhaust gas burn. CONSTITUTION:Molten iron, limestone, etc. are charged into a converter 1 and the spacining between the converter mouth and gas cooler 4 is perfectly closed with a closing device 12. Next, oxygen top blowing by a lance 2 is started and the internal pressure of the converter 1 and subsequent exhaust gas treating system is increased by the evolution of the CO-contained gas. In the initial period of exygen blowing, the amount of exhaust gas evolution is less and therefore air is pressure-fed with an air force-feeder 14 and the CO-contained exhaust gas is burned to increase the internal pressure. The CO2- contained gas formed is released through a cooler 4 and dust collectors 5, 6 by its pressure. When the exhaust gas amount from the converter increases, the pressure feeding of air is suspended and the gas is exhausted by the pressure of the exhaust gas itself, thus the need for suction blowers is eliminated at all and the electric power to be used for this becomes unnecessary. |
