PURPOSE:To favorably mix two slanted upward cool-air streams on both sides of a heater core with a downward warm-air stream in the center of the core by a method wherein a warm-air passage is arranged in the central portion of a heater core, and cool-air bypass passages are arranged on both lateral sides of the core to form passages for three layers of airflow. CONSTITUTION:A heater core 1 is set upright and roughly in front in the center of a casing 2. A warm-air passage for guiding the outside air from an intake port 14 is arranged in the central portion of the core 1. Cool air is flowed through cool-air bypass passages 4, 5 which are arranged on both sides of the core 1 and deviated from upward from the warm-air passage. Thus, three layers of airflow are established. The three layers of airflow are mixed as desired, before blown off into the interior of a vehicle through a ventilator blow-out port 11, defroster port, and floor blow-out ports 12, 13. A damper 6 and a bypass damper 7 are arranged on the upstream side of the core 1, and a guide vane 8 on the downstream side of the core 1. Baffle plates 9, 10 are arranged on the downstream side of the warm-air passage and the core 1 respectively. |
