Opto-electrical converter consists of light emitting diodes, photodiodes, photo-transistors as well as preamplifiers and output amplifiers for controlling or generating the signals. The individual components of the converter are connected in such a way as to be electrically and mechanically compatible with the other electronic unit. All the components of the conveter are moulded into an insulated mass to form a compact module (1). One side of the module has the electrical terminal tags (2) and the other side has the light emitting diode (6) which is in contact with an optical fibre (4). The optical fibre with the light emitting diode is in direct optical contact and is directly surrounded by the insulated mass. |
