PURPOSE:To accomplish the common use of the gutter through total printing in the horizontal one row by arranging the vertical deflection with a Y deflection electrode so that the head is identical in the size and the direction with respect to the relative movement of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The dots 9 are deflected slantly down by voltages Vdy and Vdx applied to the Y deflection electrode 6' and the X deflection electrode 6. The charge level is increased proportional to the advance of the deflection steps (the charge signal level, namely, the height from GND becomes greater) so that the dots are arranged horizontally on the recording paper fed at a constant feed. The gutter level is made larger than the charge level at the maximum deflection in the Y direction and a gutter 7 is provided at the bottom to recover ink. Thus, the gutter level is made larger than the maximum charge level of the ink drop used for the printing. This can increase the deflection of the gutter level allowing the common use of the gutter. |
