PURPOSE:The titled material, capable of changing the color irreversibly and remarkably at any temperature, and comprising an electron donative coloring organic compound and a metal salt of a phenolic hydroxyl group-containing compound as essential components. CONSTITUTION:A material comprising (A) an electron donative coloring organic compound, e.g. a diaryl phthalide, (B) 1/10-10% a metal salt of a phenolic hydroxyl group-containing compound, e.g. zinc salt of bisphenol A, and/or a metal salt of a carboxylic acid, e.g. zinc benzoate, and (C) 1-100% a carboxylic acid compound. The material enclosed in a microcapsule permits various thermocolor materials to be adjacent one another and to act independently, and prevents the thermochromism from lowering even in contact with a reactive substance. USE:A thermocolor printing ink and temperature detection in cryogenic indusfry. |
