A device for driving transporting rollers on comminution machines is described. Driving is performed by individual oil-hydraulic motors which are connected in series and can be driven by a variable quantity of oil in opposing directions of rotation. The quantity of oil is fed by a hydraulic pump to which a valve which controls the quantity of oil fed is assigned. The pump is coupled to a blade drum or disc in such a way that the speed-of-rotation ratio between the drum or the disc and the pump can be kept constant. As a result, it is ensured that the transporting rollers feed the material to be comminuted at a speed which enables a uniform particle size to be produced during the cutting process. This particle size can be adjusted by virtue of the fact that the quantity of oil fed by the pump can be varied by means of a valve, as a result of which only a portion of the fed quantity of oil is supplied to the oil-hydraulic motors.

|
