1336511 Spice extracts HAG AG 2 June 1972 [3 June 1971] 25937/72 Heading A2B Ethercal oils active as odour components are extracted by means of a dry supercritical gas, and are recovered from the resultant solution by variation of temperature and/or pressure. Likewise taste components may be recovered by using a wet supercritical gas. The odour and taste components may thereafter be mixed. The residual spices may be extracted with water, and the extracted material thereafter mixed with the taste and odour components. Suitable gases include N 2 O, SF 6 , CHF 3 , CF 3 Cl, CHF 2 Cl, CF 2 =CH 2 , C s Fg, C 2 H 6 , C 2 H 4 , and CO 2 . Examples relate to the extraction of black pepper, cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla pod. |
