Cephalosporin C(I) was isolated from fermentation broth contg. I by washing it with water adjusted to pH 3-5 through the microporous non-ionic multi-beds exchange resin having a 200-1, 000A and a 40-20A pore diameter. After primary eluting I with aq. soln. of alkaline metal salt, I was eluted with lower alcohol to obtain selectively I from pigment, protein, polysaccharide, etc.
