PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress temperature rise by sharing the loss.SOLUTION: A power converter for vehicle for converting a single-phase AC power into a DC power includes a 2-level converter, a 3-level converter, and a control unit. Out of one period of a voltage outputted from a multi-level converter of the 2-level converter and 3-level converter, the control unit performs pulse width modulation control by the 2-level converter but does not performs pulse width modulation control by the 3-level converter in the first period, and does not perform pulse width modulation control by the 2-level converter but performs pulse width modulation control by the 3-level converter in one period excepting the first period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
