<p>Each box consists of an internal and an external wall, made of steel sheet and vertical. Horizontal baffles are welded inside each box, and to both walls by longitudinal fillet welds on both edges of each baffle, so the water is compelled to follow a labyrinthine path up the box. The spaces between the baffles are pref. smaller in the lower part of the box than in the upper part. Curved baffles are pref. also used to direct the water along desired paths; and grids are used to reduce turbulence in the water.</p> |
